ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Washington Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo says he has a torn ligament in his left middle finger, but he plans to play Thursday against the New York Giants.

Orakpo said Tuesday he will wear a large hard cast on his finger that will permit him to move back to the right side. He played primarily on the left after hurting the finger during Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Left guard Shawn Lauvao was downgraded Tuesday because of more swelling on his right knee. Josh LeRibeus would make his first NFL start if Lauvao can’t play.

The Redskins are also expecting nickel cornerback Tracy Porter to make his season debut after missing three games with a pulled right hamstring.

Defensive end Jason Hatcher remains day to day with an injured hamstring.
