Pirates minor leaguer De Jesus suspended 72 games

NEW YORK (AP) — Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman Johan De Jesus has been suspended 72 games without pay for a violation of baseball’s minor league drug program.

The commissioner’s office says Monday that De Jesus tested positive for a metabolite of Nandrolone, a performance-enhancing substance. His suspension will take effect at the start of the 2015 Dominican Summer League season.

De Jesus is currently on the roster of the Dominican Summer League Pirates.
