Mobley leads Eastern Kentucky past UT-Martin

MARTIN, Tenn. (AP) — Dy’Shawn Mobley ran for 183 yards, on 11 carries, and three touchdowns and Eastern Kentucky beat UT Martin 49-24 in the Ohio Valley Conference opener for both teams on Saturday.

Eastern Kentucky took a 21-10 lead when Bennie Coney connected with Devin Borders for a 70-yard touchdown pass with 12:47 left in the first half. Ten seconds later, after Khiry Maddox forced a fumble on UT Martin’s next play from scrimmage, Jeff Glover found Deno Montgomery for a 29-yard score on a reverse pass.

A 15-yard touchdown pass from Dylan Favre to Corey Jordan and a 5-yard scoring run from James Ratliff pulled UT Martin (1-3) within four at the half.

Eastern Kentucky scored 21-straight points to open the second half.

Glover also had seven receptions for 128 yards for Eastern Kentucky (4-0), which is off to its best start since 1992.
