DC police investigate fatal hit-and-run crash

WASHINGTON (AP) — District of Columbia police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a bicyclist in northwest Washington.

Police say the bicyclist was riding on 8th Street NW near S Street when she was struck by an SUV about 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Investigators say the light-colored SUV was last seen fleeing toward Rhode Island Avenue.

Police identified the victim as 53-year-old Tonya Reaves of northeast Washington. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police say the SUV may have damage to the right front bumper.
