WASHINGTON (AP) — Washington police say a woman has been charged with first-degree felony murder in the beating death of her 3-year-old son.

Twenty-five-year-old Frances Lyles was arrested Tuesday was arrested Tuesday in the death of Xavier Lyles on June 24.

Police had been called to the boy’s home after was found unresponsive. Police investigators say he was beaten to death. The medical examiner confirmed that Xavier died of blunt force injuries.
