Md. woman facing DUI charges after man run over

OCEAN PINES, Md. (AP) — Police say an Ocean Pines woman is facing drunken driving charges after her car ran over a man with whom she had been fighting.

Ocean Pines police Chief David Massey says 56-year-old Debora Ellen Hileman and a man identified as John Derrickson got into a domestic dispute on Sept. 6.

Massey says the dispute got physical, and Derrickson fell to the ground.

Somehow, Hileman’s car lurched forward and ran over Derrickson. He’s still hospitalized.

Massey tells The Daily Times (http://delmarvane.ws/1s3QAEt) that it’s unclear how the car slipped into drive because Hileman wasn’t behind the wheel at the time.

Police charged Hileman with drunken driving, and she’s set for a court hearing on Nov. 20.

Hileman, a real estate agent and broker in Ocean Pines, didn’t return a call for comment.
