WASHINGTON — Police have arrested a mother in the June, 24 homicide of her 3-year-old son.

On Tuesday police arrested Frances Lyles, 25, and charged her with the murder of Xavier Lyles.

Police said Xavier, who lived in Southeast D.C., was beaten to death. The medical examiner confirmed that Xavier died of blunt force injuries.
