Medical examiner: Md. student’s death accidental

TOWSON, Md. (AP) — A medical examiner has ruled a Towson University student’s death over the weekend accidental.

Police in Baltimore County said Thursday that an investigation indicated 18-year-old Julia Margaret Ratnaraj of New Jersey fell backward into a sliding glass door. The medical examiner determined her death was a result of head and neck injuries. There was no evidence of foul play.

Ratnaraj was found unresponsive by police Saturday at an apartment in the 300 block of East Joppa Road. She was later declared deceased at a hospital. Police say she was at a friend’s apartment when the incident happened.

Ratnaraj was from Sewell, New Jersey. A spokeswoman for the university said she was a freshman.
