Party with a purpose and help make second chances pawsible at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington’s 2nd Annual Golden Paw Gala on November 1st at the Westin Arlington Gateway! Mix and mingle with some of the League’s shelter dog celebrities as they strut and pose on the red carpet to represent the hundreds of animals that will benefit from the evening’s proceeds.

Cocktails, fine-dining, dancing as well as silent and live auctions will fill the evening. Musical entertainment by Odyssey Band, a 10-piece horn ensemble, will keep you dancing all night!

AWLA’s Animal Welfare Achievement Award, granted to individuals or organizations that have made remarkable strides to improve the lives of animals, will be presented to Jim Moran, U.S. Representative from Virginia’s 8th District. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Animal Protection Caucus, Moran has championed and contributed both locally and nationally to animal welfare advancement. Special guest Wayne Pacelle, president and CEO of the Humane Society of the United States, will deliver remarks.

Hosted by WTOP’s Joan Jones and Dr. Katy Nelson from The Pet Show with Dr. Katy, on News Channel 8, this highly anticipated charity benefit coincides with Arlington’s Animal Shelter Appreciation Month, shining a spot light on animal welfare in Arlington County.
