Pirates to open 2015 season in Cincinnati

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Pirates will start the 2015 season on the road.

Pittsburgh travels to Cincinnati to face the Reds on April 6, 2015, then heads to Milwaukee before hosting Detroit in the home opener at PNC Park on April 13. It’s the first time in club history the Pirates will face an American League team in the home opener.

Pittsburgh wraps up 2015 season with a six-game homestand against the St. Louis Cardinals and Reds. The 2015 regular season ends on Sunday, Oct. 4.

The Pirates also host the Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox in interleague play. Pittsburgh has been one of major league baseball’s best home teams in recent years and is 44-28 at PNC Park this season, tied for the second-best home record in the National League.
