Verona company fined for waste violations

VERONA, Va. (AP) — State regulators have fined a Verona manufacturing company more than $30,000 for hazardous waste violations.

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality discovered the violations during an April inspection of Energizer Holdings Inc.’s plant.

Enforcement specialist senior Karen Hensley with the DEQ tells The News Leader (http://bit.ly/WhKKRb ) that the violations mainly were record keeping and paperwork.

Hensley says the plant currently is in compliance with all regulations.
