Buccaneers sign 6 players to practice squad

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been awarded offensive lineman Garrett Gilkey off waivers from the Cleveland Browns and re-signed six players who were in training camp with them to the practice squad.

To make room for Gilkey, the Bucs waived offensive lineman Josh Allen from the 53-man roster on Sunday.

One day after being waived in the final cuts, running back Jeff Demps, tight end Cameron Brate, quarterback Mike Kafka, linebacker Brandon Magee, defensive tackle Matthew Masifilo and wide receiver Solomon Patton were re-signed to the practice squad.

Coach Lovie Smith has four more spots to fill on the practice squad.
