HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying human remains found in in a tributary of Antietam Creek.

The office released 2D composite created from the skull found in May in Marsh Run a heavily wooded area near Loose Lane in Hagerstown. Evidence of a previous fracture was found in the left eye and upper left jaw area of the skull.

Deputies say the remains appear to be of a white man, in his early 50s, about 6 feet tall. He was wearing red shorts, black under shorts, and a green or blue and yellow stripped short-sleeve shirt.

The remains had been in the elements between 6 to 15 months.
