Liberty to hold annual film festival Aug. 28-30

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — Liberty University is preparing to hold its annual Cinematic Arts, Zaki Gordon Center Premiere Film Festival.

This year’s festival will be held Aug. 28 through Aug. 30. Films that will be screened during the festival include “Beyond the Mask,” ”Brother’s Keeper” and “The Remaining.”

Other activities include panel discussions with filmmakers and screenings from Liberty’s first cinematic arts graduates.

Cinematics arts program director Stephan Schultze says in a news release that the festival is designed to support students’ educational process as well as the greater Virginia film community.

Movie screenings will be held at Cinemark Movies 10 in Candlers Station Shopping Center. Panel discussions will be held in Marie F. Green Hall on Liberty’s campus.
