Man arrested in Md. after Del. bank robbery

LEWES, Del. (AP) — State police say a man robbed a bank in Lewes and was arrested across the border in Maryland after he briefly fled from a traffic stop.

Police say 40-year-old Christopher Didio of Georgetown approached the County Bank in Lewes and forcibly took money that a teller had been counting. Police say Didio demanded more money from the teller, who complied, before he fled the bank and drove away.

A Laurel police officer tried to pull over the vehicle about two and a half hours later. Police say the driver fled and was later stopped in Maryland and was taken into custody without incident.

Police say Didio is also a suspect in a bank robbery in Seaford that occurred earlier on Friday.
