2 teens charged in Richmond vehicle break-in spree

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Two 14-year-old boys have been charged with breaking into nearly four dozen vehicles in Richmond.

Richmond police tell media outlets that the 47 break-ins were reported in the past three months.

One boy is charged with 28 felonies and nine misdemeanors. The other is charged with eight felonies and two misdemeanors.

Police say items stolen during the break-ins include money, laptops, tablets, jewelry, a musical instrument, wallets, pocketbooks, clothing, cellphones and backpacks.

Police say the vehicle in each case was either unlocked or a window was rolled down.
