Magnitude-5.0 quake rattles Ecuador’s capital

QUITO, Ecuador (AP) — A 5.0-magnitude quake has rattled Ecuador’s capital, sending people scurrying into the streets from office buildings.

Ecuador’s geophysics institute says the quake was centered 16 miles (25 kilometers) northwest of Quito at a depth of 3 miles (5 kilometers).

There are no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
