‘Boss School’: The latest in training for busy women who want to be entrepreneurs

They call it “Boss School.”

And beginning Sept. 15, you can enroll in the 10-week online course designed to teach aspiring (and busy) female entrepreneurs everything they need to know to start and grow a business.

Boss School is a partnership between the Kauffman Foundation — one of the foremost nonprofits dedicated to entrepreneurship — and the startup Hello Fearless, a Kansas-City-based online entrepreneurial school that transforms “bold women into brave entrepreneurs.”

The curriculum and presentation is fun, sassy and — as you’ll see it on the site — “a big dose of legit.”

Hello Fearless founder Sara Davidson says that Boss School will include guidance from world-class experts and organizations on everything from creating a brand and finding target customers to determining your strengths as a business owner. Then they’ll help you tackle all the not-so-sexy but oh-so-necessary business training, such as navigating proper legal structures, financial modeling, pricing strategies and funding.

The course, which costs $1,200, will be available via video, audio and transcriptions.

In 1993, the Kauffman Foundation launched FastTrac, a series of entrepreneurial training courses, and have since trained more than 350,000 people. The only catch: The courses must be taken in person.

The partnership with Hello Fearless will bring the successful FastTrac curriculum online — and tailor it to aspiring female entrepreneurs.

The first class kicks off Sept. 28.
