Noah Rubin wins USTA Boys’ 18s

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — Noah Rubin won the USTA Boys’ 18s National Championship on Sunday to earn a main draw wild card into the U.S. Open, beating Collin Altamirano 6-4, 6-4, 6-3.

The 18-year-old Rubin, from Rockville Centre, New York, also earned a wild card into the U.S. Open doubles main draw Saturday when he teamed with 16-year-old Stefan Kozlov of Pembroke Pines, Florida, to win the Boys’ 18s title.

Rubin won the Wimbledon boys’ singles title in July. He’s set to play at Wake Forest this year.

Altamirano, the 2013 18s winner, is from Sacramento, California. He will play at Virginia.
