NC State LB Salahuddin to have knee surgery

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina State coach Dave Doeren says junior linebacker M.J. Salahuddin is out indefinitely due to a knee injury that will require surgery.

Speaking Sunday at the team’s preseason media day, Doeren said Salahuddin suffered the injury during practice last week. Doeren says Salahuddin will be out “a while,” and it is unclear whether he will be out for the season.

Doeren did not discuss the nature of the injury.

Salahuddin started five games at weakside linebacker last season, tallying 25 tackles and two tackles for loss.
