Flame from Emirates plane put out at Boston

BOSTON (AP) — A Dubai-to-Boston flight with 367 passengers and crew members aboard has been grounded at Logan International Airport after an engine fire that officials say was quickly extinguished when the plane landed.

Massport says a flame was seen coming from an engine of the Emirates Boeing 777-300 after it landed at 2 p.m. Sunday on its flight from Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates. The fire was put out and the plane was towed to the gate.

An Emirates spokesperson says the “small engine fire” occurred on landing, was quickly extinguished, and everyone disembarked safely at the airport terminal.

Flight 237 carried 349 passengers and 18 crew members.
