Jets sign Brouillette to one-year deal

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) — The Winnipeg Jets have signed defenseman Julien Brouillette to a one-year, two-way contract worth $600,000 at the NHL level.

Brouillette made his NHL debut this past season for the Washington Capitals, getting a goal and an assist in 10 games.

He has spent the vast majority of his professional career in the minors, most recently with the AHL’s Hershey Bears. He is likely to see time with the Jets’ top affiliate, the St. John Ice Caps.

Brouillette played his junior hockey with the QMJHL’s Chicoutimi Sagueneens from 2003-’04 to 2006-’07.
