Bears backup center de la Puente injures knee

CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago backup center Brian de la Puente has left the Bears’ preseason game Friday night against Philadelphia because of a knee injury.

He was injured late in the second quarter.

De la Puente signed with Chicago in April after spending three seasons with New Orleans. He started 44 of 48 games for the Saints.

Chicago’s Chris Williams left with a hamstring injury after catching a 73-yard touchdown pass from Jimmy Clausen in the third quarter. Philadelphia’s Matthew Tucker also left with a hamstring injury in the third.
