MADRID (AP) — Former MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo has agreed to a two-year contract extension with team Yamaha.
Lorenzo has ridden with Yamaha for the last seven years, winning the world title for the top class in 2010 and 2012.
The 27-year-old Spaniard is currently in fifth place in the points standings this season.
Lorenzo says “It is a relief to be able to now completely focus on the remainder of the 2014 season … I strongly believe we can fight for a third title together.”
The Indianapolis GP is this Sunday.
