ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Maryland Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown and Republican Larry Hogan have agreed to a televised debate in the governor’s race.

WJZ-TV and The Baltimore Sun announced Wednesday that they will jointly host the debate in October and that representatives with Brown and Hogan have confirmed the candidates will participate.

It will be held at WJZ-TV Studios in Baltimore on Oct. 7. The debate will be taped that morning and broadcast that evening between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

WJZ-TV President and General Manager Jay Newman says the debate will provide voters the opportunity to hear directly from both major candidates for governor about a month before they decide who will lead the state over the next four years.
