Peavy loses perfect game bid in 7th vs Mets

NEW YORK (AP) — Jake Peavy of the San Francisco Giants has lost his bid for a perfect game in the seventh inning against the New York Mets.

Peavy retired the first 19 batters before Daniel Murphy doubled with one out in the seventh. Giants left fielder Michael Morse appeared to misjudge the flyball to the opposite field.

The game at Citi Field is scoreless. Mets rookie pitcher Jacob deGrom didn’t give up a hit until there were two outs in the seventh.
