Scolari back with Brazil club Gremio for 3rd stint

PORTO ALEGRE, Brazil (AP) — Luiz Felipe Scolari is returning to Gremio for his third coaching stint with the Brazilian club two weeks after resigning as Brazil’s national coach.

The club confirmed the appointment Tuesday.

Scolari first coached the club in 1987 and returned six years later.

Brazil was humiliated in the World Cup semifinals this month. The 7-1 rout by eventual champion Germany was one of the worst defeats in the country’s history.

The defeat led to the appointment of Dunga as national coach. He previously coached the national team from 2006 to2010.
