Man charged in April home invasion slaying

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) — Maryland State Police have charged a man in a home invasion slaying in Salisbury.

Troopers say 35-year-old Paul A. Tatem of Quantico was indicted on numerous charges, including first- and second-degree murder and armed robbery. He was arrested at the Wicomico County Detention Center, where he has been held since July 1 on unrelated charges.

Tatem is charged in the beating death of 72-year-old Donald Mariner, who was attacked along with his housemate in their home on April 16. The housemate was also attacked, but survived.
