Baltimore using water wheel to clean Inner Harbor

WASHINGTON — In Baltimore, the city has found new and interesting ways to clean up the Inner Harbor.

They’re using a water wheel that dredges the dirty water and pulls trash from it onto a conveyor belt. From there, the trash goes into the dumpster.

So far, the wheel has picked up more than 85 tons of trash. A video, which you can see below, shows plastic bottles and logs being loaded into the dumpster.

“I believe the water wheel has just accumulated its first tire,” a male voice says on the clip.
