Lanes on busy Bethesda road to close through the fall

WASHINGTON — Beginning this weekend through the fall, up to two lanes at a time will be closed from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. on an already congested stretch of Bethesda’s Wisconsin Avenue. About 45,000 vehicles are on this busy Maryland road daily.

A spokeswoman with Maryland State Highway Administration says, “We are advising anyone driving through the area to be alert for work crews and to walk safely as they’re walking through that work area since we may have sections blocked.”

The overnight work will occur five nights a week as part of a project to resurface Wisconsin Avenue between Bradley Lane and Old Georgetown Road which is expected to run through the late fall of 2014.
