Md. teen charged in son’s death in Baltimore

BALTIMORE (AP) — Police in Baltimore have charged a 19-year-old with the murder of her toddler son.

Police say 19-year-old Cierra Curtis was arrested Thursday and charged with fatally beating her son June 30. Police say officers were in the 5800 block of Reisterstown Road when they heard a woman screaming about her baby.

Police say officers attempted life-saving efforts to assist Curtis’ son, 21-month-old Jayden Curtis. He was taken to an a hospital where he died. Police say the medical examiner ruled Jayden’s cause of death to be a homicide by multiple injuries from blunt force trauma.

Curtis is charged with murder, assault, child abuse and neglect.
