Courts close in Frederick, Md., after power outage

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — The Frederick County district and circuit courts have been closed because of a power outage downtown.

The county’s spokeswoman said Thursday afternoon in an email that the courts would be closed for the rest of the day.

Frederick city police say the power went out around noon as a result of a blown transformer. They say it was restored by 3:30 p.m.

The courts plan to operate on a normal schedule on Friday.
