Biden to speak at liberal Netroots Nation

WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden will mingle with liberal activists next week at the Netroots Nation convention.

Netroots Nation says the vice president has agreed to speak at its annual political conference being held this year in Detroit. The July 17 speech will be the first time Biden has addressed the group.

The conference is a major gathering for liberal political activists and often features major candidates and rising political stars. The speech gives Biden a chance to keep up his ties to the Democratic base. Biden hasn’t ruled out a third presidential campaign in 2016.

Biden also plans to speak the day before at another conference of young liberals and student activists. He’ll join House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi at a summit hosted by Generation Progress in Washington.
