August special elections set for 2 Va. House seats

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Special elections will be held in August to fill two vacant seats in the Virginia House of Delegates.

Bob Brink and Algie Howell both resigned from the House effective Monday.

House Speaker William J. Howell says in a news release that the elections to replace Brink and Howell will be held Aug. 19.

The filing deadline for each special election is July 7.

A special election also will be held Aug. 19 to fill a vacant seat in the Virginia Senate.
