More Brazilians are visiting central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Orlando now gets more overseas visitors from Brazil than from any other country.

An annual report from the Office of Travel and Tourism Industries says Orlando had 768,488 Brazilian visitors last year, up from about 639,000 in 2012. The 2013 total surpassed the visits from travelers from the United Kingdom to central Florida, which totaled 759,390.

The United States had a total 2,060,291 overseas visitors from Brazil in 2013, up 15 percent from the 1,791,103 that visited in 2012.

Only the U.K. with 3,835,308 visitors and Japan with 3,730,287 visitors came to the United States more in 2013.

The report’s numbers do not include visitors from Canada or Mexico, who aren’t classified as international visitors.
