Diamondbacks place Jordan Pacheco on disabled list

PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks placed infielder/catcher Jordan Pacheco on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday because of right shoulder tendinitis and recalled right-hander Zeke Spruill from Triple-A Reno.

The 28-year-old Pacheco has appeared in eight games for Arizona since being claimed off waivers from Colorado on June 12. He’s hitting .375, going 3 for 8 with a double in eight pinch-hit appearances for the Diamondbacks after hitting .236 in with eight RBIs in 72 at-bats in 22 games for Colorado.

The 24-year-old Spruill appeared in one game for Arizona this season, pitching 5 1-3 innings to take the loss against the New York Mets on May 25 in the second game of a doubleheader. He’s 3-4 with one save and a 6.75 ERA in 17 games this season for Reno.
