Pregnant woman’s death ruled a homicide

ROSEDALE, Md. (AP) — Baltimore County police say a woman found dead in a home in Rosedale was killed.

Officers said Monday that the death of 33-year-old Summer Shemida Smith of Rosedale was a homicide.

Police say Smith’s mother found her injured Friday night and called 911. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. Her unborn child did not survive.

Authorities say they are not releasing the nature of Smith’s injuries or the cause of death yet.

Investigators say there is no danger to the community.
