Liberty sign Charde Houston

NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Liberty signed free agent forward Charde Houston on Monday.

Houston, a six-year WNBA veteran, was waived before training camp by Seattle. She was voted to the All-Star game in 2009 and won a title with the Minnesota Lynx in 2011.

Houston averaged 5.9 points and 2.3 rebounds last season with the Phoenix Mercury.

New York had waived forward Toni Young on Saturday to create the open roster spot.
