Toddler struck by a car in Charles County, Md. has died

WASHINGTON — A toddler was struck by a car in Charles County, Maryland and was pronounced dead a short time later, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office confirms.

The child was struck Sunday afternoon on Middletown Road in Waldorf.

The Charles County Sheriff’s Department says the little boy’s parents immediately took him to a fire station across the street. Fire and EMS workers then took him to the hospital, where he died.

His name has not been released.
