Embalming fluid spill prompts evacuation in Va.

ROANOKE, Va. (AP) — About 20 homes in Roanoke County have been evacuated after a tractor-trailer wrecked and spilled embalming fluid.

Police tell media outlets that the accident occurred Wednesday morning on Virginia Route 116 on Windy Gap Mountain. The driver suffered minor injuries.

Mount Pleasant Elementary School has been set up as a temporary shelter for people who had to leave their homes.

A section of the highway is closed due to the spill. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
