Detroit’s Cabrera leaves game with tight hamstring

DETROIT (AP) — Miguel Cabrera has left the Detroit Tigers’ game against Boston on Sunday night with left hamstring tightness.

The slugging first baseman looked gimpy as he trotted to first on a sixth-inning single, and he was lifted immediately after that for a pinch-runner. Cabrera also doubled and scored in the fourth.

Cabrera is hitting .326 with 11 homers and 51 RBIs. He was bothered last year by shin and groin injuries, and he had muscle repair surgery in the offseason.

Cabrera has played in all 59 of Detroit’s games this year.
