White Sox manager ejected for 1st time this season

CHICAGO (AP) — White Sox manager Robin Ventura has been ejected for the first time this season.

Ventura got tossed after White Sox catcher Adrian Nieto was called out for leaving the basepath while trying to avoid a tag in a rundown in the second inning of Saturday’s game against the Yankees. Nieto was originally ruled safe at second, but New York manager Joe Girardi came out to argue, and the call was changed after the umpires huddled in the middle of the infield.

Ventura then jogged out of the dugout and was thrown out after a short argument. It was his eighth ejection since he became White Sox manager before the 2012 season.
