Jaguars sign rookies Colvin, Smith to contracts

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed two of their 2014 draft picks to four-year contracts.

The team announced Wednesday that they have signed their fourth-round pick, Oklahoma cornerback Aaron Colvin, to a deal worth about $2.67 million that includes a $453,000 signing bonus. Their fifth-round pick, Arkansas defensive end Chris Smith, received a $2.4 million contract that includes a $187,000 signing bonus.

Four of the team’s nine draft picks have signed in the last three days. Center Luke Bowanko and running back Storm Johnson also signed.

Colvin is recovering from a torn knee ligament sustained during practice for the Senior Bowl. He will start the season on the physically unable to perform list and miss at least the first six games.
