2 dead in separate Southeast shootings

WASHINGTON — Two men were shot dead just minutes apart in Southeast D.C. late Monday night.

Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Kelvin Cusick says the calls came in shortly before 11:30 p.m. One shooting happened on 55th Street and the other in the 2600 block of Bowen Road.

Both victims died at the hospital.

Officials have not yet released the names of the victims or what led to the shootings.

Police are investigating and haven’t released any information on suspects yet.
