Man drowns during river baptism in Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — One person drowned and two others were rescued during a baptism taking place along the island’s north coast, authorities in Puerto Rico said Saturday.

Police said a 25-year-old man died and two women ages 20 and 32 were rescued by good Samaritans after a current carried them away.

The drowning occurred Saturday along a river mouth in the northeast coastal town of Luquillo.
