Absentee rate on Easter Monday 20 percent in Montgomery County

WASHINGTON — Roughly 20 percent of students in Montgomery County were absent on Easter Monday.

The school system tells WTOP that’s more than 30,000 students.

Families expected the day to be a holiday, but that changed in early April, when Montgomery County Public Schools decided to make it a snow make-up day.
