NEW YORK (AP) — Worried waits. A hug for mom. A high five for a daughter.

Behind the scenes at the NFL Draft, emotions ran high as players awaited, or celebrated, the biggest moment in their football careers.

Players waited for “the call” from a team to tell them they’d been picked. Others wondered about whether their chance would come.
