Tracy McGrady set to make first start for Skeeters

SUGAR LAND, Texas (AP) — Former NBA star Tracy McGrady is set to make his first start for the Sugar Land Skeeters on Saturday night in an Atlantic League game against the Somerset Patriots.

The Skeeters said Thursday that the 34-year-old McGrady will be on a limited pitch count. He last pitched in an exhibition game last month, allowing three hits in an inning against Alvin Community College.

The 6-foot-8 right-hander played baseball until his senior year in high school when he transferred to a school without a baseball program. He was a seven-time NBA All-Star and won two scoring titles.
