Astros call up Zeid from Oklahoma City

DETROIT (AP) — The Houston Astros have recalled right-hander Josh Zeid from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Houston made the move Wednesday after optioning right-hander Josh Fields to Oklahoma City following Tuesday night’s game against Detroit.

Zeid made two relief appearances in early April for the Astros, allowing two runs in three innings.

Fields was sent down after allowing five runs in two-thirds of an inning Tuesday. That rough outing raised his ERA with the Astros to 12.00 in 14 appearances this year.

Astros shortstop Jonathan Villar was left out of the starting lineup Wednesday night because of an issue with his throwing hand. Manager Bo Porter said it was just precautionary.
