RENTON, Wash. (AP) — When all the picks are finally done, Pete Carroll starts grabbing phones.

The Seattle Seahawks coach reverts to being a recruiter at this point. He bounces between calls to players who were not selected in the NFL draft and might have a place on the Seahawks roster. He tells them that in Seattle they will have a chance to make the roster, and cites the examples of undrafted players getting their shot with the Seahawks and proving to be valuable.

Whether it’s wide receivers Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse, or offensive lineman Alvin Bailey, the Seahawks showed that undrafted free agents were important to their Super Bowl run.

Carroll and general manager John Schneider were already starting their pitch to possible undrafted free agents on Tuesday.
